Project 365 - Day 30

The Lucky Dip - Ardent Photography

Where to go? Ardent Photography

What to buy? Art Photography - Instant Room decor Designer Five Pack

What does it cost? $10+ plus shipping

What's it all about? Great for any room d├ęcor, but great for dorm rooms, first apartments, that new guest room that looks a little bare. Photographs include landscapes, flower close ups, and my everyday objects style. [...] I went through all of the photographs that I put in these envelopes and made sure the colors coordinated and the subjects where complimentary. The photographs are random-ish. They will look lovely in a mosaic on your wall or separate in different rooms.
All photographs are printed on Fuji archival paper by a professional print house with a 1/4 inch border for matting and packaged in a cello envelope with a backer board.

Opening the envelope my eyes fell on an ashtray. Oh my. Non-smoker, you see. And not much of a beatnik, apparently. That didn't seem like a good omen until I realized that this was merely the motif of the freebie greeting card included. Luckily there were some fab photographs hot on its heels and I'm not just saying this, because of the abstract fire photo included in the lot. I wouldn't go so far as to say the subjects are complimentary, but I hadn't planned on grouping them on one wall anyway. All in all this is a mixed bag, but tastes differ and I love Sarah's artistic approach!

Personal Favorite? "Eye Art" Photograph

How do you like Sarah McTernen's photography? Which of the photos I received do you like best? Comment away.

Project 365 - Day 28

The Lucky Dip - Jubilique and Louise

Where to go? Jubilique and Louise

What to buy? Lucky Dip Bag

What does it cost? £5 plus shipping

What's it all about? Everyone loves a lucky dip [...] you are guaranteed a Christmas card, gift tags and a face dish!

Face dish? Super cute idea. But let's start at the beginning. Filled with excitement I opened my lucky dip which turned out to be a bit on the unlucky side as parts of the content got damaged during transit. Abbi was so helpful and accommodating and immediately sent out new ceramics to replace the broken ones. Talk about excellent customer service! And now just take a look at all the lovely goodies I received. I find especially the ceramics stinkin' cute and who could blame me? Needless to say, I'm really pleased with the varied and uniquely designed mix in my (un)lucky dip!

Personal Favorite? "City Circle" Ornament

How do you like these unusual ceramics? Would you put precious little items in the face dish or just display it as is? Please share.

Project 365 - Day 23

The Lucky Dip - Antiquated Future

Where to go? Antiquated Future

What to buy? Paper Goods Pack (Grab Bag)

What does it cost? $5 plus shipping

What's it all about? A fine selection of things to write on, draw on, and send to your friends!
1 Notepad, 1 Mini Journal, 1 Postcard, 1 Greeting Card + Envelope
All for $5!

Noticing that there are two mini journals instead of one and the obvious lack of a notepad separates the average person from the perfectionist. No harm done, really. Plus, the seller apologized for this mix-up and even offered to send out a notepad to make up for this mix-up. That's great customer service for you. But what about the goodies I received? So lovely and unique! Those cards are honestly too pretty to be sent to anyone and I've now stocked up on notebooks for my purse as well. A delightful paper surprise for my inner writer!

Personal Favorite? "Merchant of Venice" Greeting Card

Do you always carry a notebook with you like I do? And how do you like the designs I received? Comment away!

Project 365 - Day 21

The Lucky Dip - House of Wonderland

Where to go? House of Wonderland

What to buy? Mystery Bag of House of Wonderland Jewellery Goodies

What does it cost? £11 plus shipping

What's it all about? These gorgeous little gift bags come filled with HOW goodies. Each one comes with past and current season jewellery and gifts. Each bag has been hand filled with different pretties, meaning no two bags are the same! [...] At least £20 worth of jewellery and accessories just £11!!! [...] Bags are already pre-packaged but please include in the notes section when ordering if you have pierced or un-pierced ears.

This is a girly girl grab bag if I ever saw one. In fact, this one seriously tickles your curiosity simply by glancing through the cellophane bag the goodies arrived in. I love how this surprise not only features jewelry, but as the cherry on the cake, lots of cute trinkets which makes it perfect for giving as a gift to a friend. Of course, I won't share, because sometimes a girl needs to treat herself with a nice surprise. Oh and is anyone wondering what's inside the lil' retro tin? Hairpins. And the origami crane? Freebie, yay. This is certainly one of the funnest and most charming goodie bags I bought in a while!

Personal Favorite? "Magic Fairy Wishes" Bottle

How do you like mystery bags that are filled with different knickknacks? Would you have been surprised by finding hairpins instead of, say, mints in the cute tin? Please share.

Project 365 - Day 16

The Lucky Dip - Sparks Emporium

Where to go? Sparks Emporium

What to buy? Mystery Grab Bag of Awesomeness

What does it cost? $8 plus shipping

What's it all about? Inside this grab bag you will find something totally unique and wondrous!
Each bag is a complete surprise as they are pre-packaged.

Sometimes I accidentally on purpose order more than just one grab bag. The listing doesn't really give much of anything away, but you know what they say - no risk, no fun! Arriving in two plain brown paper bags I opened the lighter one first (Grab Bag I) and was instantly smitten with all the darling items I found inside. Granted, the earrings with the yellow stars are a tad gaudy for my taste, but who cares about that when everything else is right up my alley. Going for the heavy one next (Grab Bag II) I set eyes on a whole different variety of pieces which certainly proves that no two bags are alike. Well, despite the rather similar, but equally cute, flower rings, that is. Overall I must confess I do like the first one a whole lot better, but then again, that's just me. Bottom line? Amazing value meets super fun jewelry!

Personal Favorite? "Old Town" Necklace (Grab Bag I) and "Blue Stones & Silver" Bracelet (Grab Bag II)

Would you agree that sometimes one just ain't enough? And which of the two mystery bags would be your favorite? Comment away.

Project 365 - Day 14

The Lucky Dip - The Whimsical Wodgelet

Where to go? The Whimsical Wodgelet

What to buy? Mystery Bag

What does it cost? $8 CAD plus shipping

What's it all about? Earrings, Necklaces, Keychains, etc. What's in this is for use to know and for you to find out ;D The only guarantee we can make is that the value of these bags are from $10-$20 each. Most will contain items not listed in our shops and every one will be beautifully packaged.

As it so happens, rather often as well, I couldn't help myself and ordered two mystery bags. Stranger things have happened too, like say, ordering three or four. But let's not get ahead of myself here. Two it was and both arrived in leo-print paper bags. Opening the first one (Grab Bag I) I discovered a sweet mix of golden pieces which certainly compliment each other and really fit my taste. Ripping open the second one (Grab Bag II) I found two items of a completely different style inside. Funny how I usually open the one first which I end up liking so much better, but you see, I usually steer clear of stuff like leather and feathers (let's blame the vegetarian in me), so that one's a bit of a bummer.
Still, the cute freebies thrown in more than made up for this! Overall a pleasant surprise with keepers and stocking-stuffers alike!

Personal Favorite? "Golden Pearl" Earrings (Grab Bag I)

Which of the two mystery bags do you like best? And wouldn't you agree that it's a nice touch to receive a little extra goodie with a purchase? Please share.

Project 365 - Day 9

The Lucky Dip - Lauras Jewellery

Where to go? Lauras Jewellery

What to buy? Jewellery Lucky Dip Goodie Bag

What does it cost? £10+ plus shipping

What's it all about? Each goodie bag will include a selection of necklaces, brooches and earrings. Some of them will be pieces readily available in my Etsy store, others will be from new ranges, or items I reserve especially for craft fairs.
[...] Option 1 - The £10 Goodie Bag - This bag will include at least £25 of jewellery (minimum of 4 pieces of jewellery); Option 2 - The £20 Goodie Bag - This bag will include at least £50 of jewellery (minimum of 8 pieces of jewellery).

Trust me to be that annoying customer who will ask that no butterflies be included in a shop that has a fluttering focus on them. Laura was not only sweet enough to accommodate my request she (hopefully) didn't bat any eye about it either. Settling for the large version of this lucky dip my reward was this colorful and diverse lot, one piece prettier than the next. And as some of you might know, I have a soft spot for brooches and look at all the pinningly (is that even a word?) lovely ones I received! A fun treat for myself and a bargain to boot!

Personal Favorite? "Blue Hair Girl" Brooch

Would this be your kind of lucky dip too? And how about those butterflies - yay or nay? Comment away.

Project 365 - Day 7

The Lucky Dip - Cinsational Baubles

Where to go? Cinsational Baubles

What to buy? Double Black Weekend Grab Bag

What does it cost? $13.49 plus shipping

What's it all about? This is a surprise lot of 7 items from my coveted "to be photographed" bin. These are brand new items that haven't been listed, newly listed or one of a kind pieces that are simply to die for!
There may be necklaces, earrings, bracelets, hair clips/barrettes, bracelets, rings, locket necklaces, key chains in any design shape, length or style. There may be cameos, gemstones, rhinestones, charms or pearls. BUT, you will get at least $70 retail value worth of pieces ready for gifting or simply a little something for yourself. These are preselected lots and already ready for shipping. They were chosen at random and some of them are closer to $120.00 retail value!!!

My first thought was somewhere along the lines of me in a hundred years or so. Why? Green skeleton. Not funny? Well, it is when I tell you that I'm a vegetarian. Joking aside, the playful goth girl style might not be something I'd usually go for, but sometimes it pays to buy off the beaten path, so to speak. Frankly, I am pretty taken by the varied mix of pieces I received. And shockingly - you may remember I'm not big on rings - I really adore that eye-catcher with the blue stone. Very classy. Verdict? An unexpectedly lovely booty of the darker kind.

Personal Favorite? "Black Rose Cameo" Necklace

Would you dare to venture onto the dark side when it comes to grab bag surprises? How about skeletons and skulls - yay or nay? Please share!
